Abstract

In this session, an ETH Career Center Coach shows students why it is important to define and establish a personal brand in the context of a professional career.

Learning Objectives

Students learn why it is important to define and establish their personal brand in the context of their career. They learn about different models to help them define your brand (e.g. personal business canvas) and then see how they can convert their brand into tangible career marketing tools, in particular your LinkedIn profile. The work on their personal brand using one of the models. In the second part of the training, the students learn

  • Why and how social media are relevant for their job sea.ch
  • How to efficiently structure a LinkedIn profile, incl. Do’s and Don’t’s
  • How to use LinkedIn as a job market, career exploration tool
  • How to use LinkedIn to find jobs
  • How to use LinkedIn to network

Content

Participants explore different models to help them define their brand (e.g. personal business canvas) and then see how they can convert their brand into tangible career marketing tools, in particular their LinkedIn profile.
