Abstract

Agile methods have proven to be highly successful for delivering complex projects and products, first in IT and now in many different areas in business. During this workshop, you will experience the most popular agile frameworks and learn how to apply them to your research project.

Learning Objectives

You will

  • know the most important agile frameworks Scrum and Kanban.
  • know how to classify when and why which agile methods are useful for your research project.
  • know how to set up your (doctoral) research project in an agile way
  • learn to apply agile methods in your research project, thus minimizing risks and constantly adapting your work to gained knowledge.
  • learn how to focus and stay on track with your research project.

Brief theoretical inputs, exercises, simulations of Scrum and Kanban, tasks carried out in small groups, sharing experiences, and individual transfer work (designing, practicing and reviewing agile approaches in participants’ projects).
