Abstract

This Moodle course helps to find a suitable reference management software for scientific writing. You will learn how to save time by using these tools, what the advantages and disadvantages of the different programmes are and what the most important functions are. In addition, we will show you what you need to pay attention to when citing in order to avoid plagiarism and give you information about tools that support you in citing correctly.

Find the right reference management software.

Because with it,

  • you always have an overview of what you have read everywhere,
  • you can generate ready-formatted bibliographic data with one click,
  • your bibliography will practically create itself – in exactly the citation style you need.

But wait a minute – which reference management type are you? Find out in the quiz.

We will introduce you to three reference management software programs: EndNote, Mendeley and Zotero. You can look at all of them – but maybe you want to start with the one recommended to you in the quiz or by your colleagues.
