A Digital Makerspace Manager talks to students at the SPH Open Day

Abstract

The Digital Makerspace at the ETH Student Project House is a place and a community for students. By taking on the role of voluntary Makerspace Managers, ETH students can train and support other students in working on their projects and perform prototyping. The available infrastructure includes AR/VR glasses, cloud services, LLMs, workshops, video recording equipment.

Learning Objectives

• Develop understanding and gain practical experience in using digital tools and programming.

• being able to apply technical knowledge to advise and support other students' prototyping work in a fast-changing digital environment

• being able to communicate to and guide an interdisciplinary and diverse group of users professionally and with good customer-orientation

Content

Give all students access to different digital tools to lower the barrier of entry and get hands-on experience. Strengthen interdisciplinary idea exchange between it and less it-affine students. Support student projects.
