Abstract

This event takes place in different formats every semester. At times, we offer a panel with non EU/ EFTA alumnae and alumni who provide information about their application process on the Swiss job market and share their experiences on the way to get a job and the associated work permit. Other times we offer a session with a representative of the Zurich Labor Office.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this event, students will know more about the possibilities and limitations of job search and work permits for non-EU/EFTA nationals in Switzerland. They will learn more about the situation on the labor market from the perspective of those who are affected by it themselves. As a result, they will gain different perspectives, be better informed and be able to manage their expectations when they start their job search in the Swiss market.

Content

During this panel discussion, students will listen to different alumni and alumnae talk about their personal path and experiences in the application process. The discussion will be moderated by the Career Center. At the end, there will be an opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session. After the panel, there will be an aperitif where students can further exchange and network with the speakers and other students that find themselves in the same situation.
