Abstract
Scientific illustrations are an essential method for presenting your research data in a clear, comprehensible manner. While graphics should ideally be self-explanatory, they often raise many questions and are misinterpreted. There are some rules that help avoid this. This course introduces central principles of representation and teaches the main steps for creating scientific visualisations.Learning Objectives
At the end of the course, you will be able to
- observe scientific foundations for creating visual representations,
- use visual forms of representation and various types of diagrams,
- choose the right diagram type for your purpose,
- use various data visualisation tools and programmes,
- cite sources correctly in image captions.
