Zürich Model United Nations Conference

Abstract

ZuMUN 2025 is the 2025 iteration of the Zurich Model United Nations conference, organized every year by the ETHMUN and UZHMUN student commissions. Learn, discuss and solve global issues by representing one of the members of the United Nations on one of the many challenges this body tries to address. We will  ensure you will interact in a lively debate with students from all around the world while learning about the pressing issues of today.

Lernziele

ZuMUN provides participants with a transformative learning experience, cultivating essential skills for academic, professional, and personal growth:

• Engaging in realistic UN simulations, delegates enhance their analytical and problem-solving abilities, tackling complex global issues and crafting innovative solutions. The conference fosters critical thinking and decision-making, as participants evaluate diverse perspectives and negotiate resolutions.
• Through collaboration and teamwork, participants can learn essential skills, such as effective communication, leadership, and sensitivity to diversity. Delegates build consensus in multicultural settings, fostering mutual respect and intercultural understanding.

ZuMUN (Zurich Model United Nations) is an international conference held within the Model United Nations framework, offering a platform for dynamic discourse on pressing global issues. Participants simulate United Nations proceedings, engaging in committee debates, drafting resolutions, and honing diplomatic skills. However, ZuMUN is more than just a pre-diplomatic exchange. It brings together passionate students from universities and high schools worldwide, fostering intercultural understanding and collaboration.

The 2025 edition of ZuMUN will take place from April 11th to 13th in Zurich. The conference strikes a unique balance between rigorous intellectual engagement and vibrant social events, ensuring a productive yet enjoyable experience. At ZuMUN, we aim to create a welcoming atmosphere where participants not only tackle global challenges but also form lasting connections and broaden their horizons.

ZuMUN 2025 will take place from April 11th to 13th in Zurich. Registration for delegates and delegations opens in early January and closes by mid-March. Position papers must be submitted two weeks before the conference to ensure adequate preparation for debates. The conference fee includes participation, materials, and access to social events, with payment deadlines communicated upon registration. Delegates are encouraged to arrange their travel and accommodation early, as spots are limited.
