Template for effective presentations

Abstract

Doctoral students are expected to provide updates on their research on a regular basis. Monthly or even weekly internal meetings can require researchers to collect, coherently organise, and orally present the latest information about what they have been working on.

This workshop is designed to show participants how to approach presentations in a structured manner, so students can clearly communicate their work in a resource efficient way.

•    to develop the ability to analyse one’s audience

•    to be able to select content for a presentation based on the key message to be delivered

•    to be aware of how to order one’s content on slides

•    to be able to construct a clear and succinct oral delivery.
